Club Rides

Lanterne Stripes

Everyone is welcome to join our club rides as an invited guest if they have a genuine interest in joining the club.  There will be an expectation that you join the club after attending one or two club rides. We also strongly advise all our members to become a member of an organisation like British Cycling which provides the benefit of individual third party (public) liability insurance.

Before riding with us, please read the Best Practice Guidelines

Please note, in the interests of safety, all club rides will be cancelled if the forecast weather is at 3ÌŠC or below. Rides will also be cancelled if there are reports of icy conditions or snow.  Keep an eye on our Facebook group (members only) for updates

You can now add our ride rota to your own calendar. Simply click here to view our public calendar. You can just click the + button in the bottom right to subscribe to the calendar.

COVID-19 Guidelines

  • You must not ride if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or feel generally unwell.

  • Riders must be members and guests will only be allowed where they have a genuine interest in joining.  Try before you join will remain as 1 guest ride before you have to commit to joining.

  • Groups sizes will be set at 8 with a maximum of 12

  • Absolutely no spitting or nose clearing by anyone will be tolerated unless it’s into a tissue.

  • We would recommend members follow the necessary Government guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID 19

  • We will maintain good riding formation as per the diagram below. Avoid bunching at junctions even if that result's in group splitting and regroup further down the road.

About Ride:

This ride will take over from the bash and run when the nights are drawing in from early\mid September to end of March. It will be a 6.30pm start from the Warwick Racecourse car park and a gentle ride up to Norton Lindsey where the 9.5-mile loop will start from the Cricket Club.  A good set of lights and preferably a backup set are a must and the focus will be on group riding over the undulating course. This ride is suited to Blue/Green/Black Lanterne riders and where we have a large group we will split down into smaller groups.

20 Mile Bash

About Ride:

The bash ride will generally start when the clocks go forward for British Summer Time and finish in early September. This ride is fast, fairly serious 20 miler... but great fun and all about teamwork. There will be No Drop group (s) plus a range of other Speed groups (drop) so if your dropped you have to find your own way back, but we will always wait for you at the finish. This is a good session for “pace line” training and suited for people of moderate fitness or above. If you are new to this kind of training we recommend you ride a few Sunday club rides first. The start time will be 6.45pm (see Garmin link above). This ride is suited to Blue/Green/Black Lanterne riders. The route finishes at the Racing Club car park.

Social/Recovery Ride

About Ride:

Thursday night recovery ride with lovely flat quiet roads and a couple of pushes to stretch the legs. Start 6.30pm at the Race Course Car Park

Focus on Social group riding at around 15 mph + average where you can catch up and have a good chat with club members while rolling through Walton Hall grounds and Warwickshire countryside. This is not a bash but is generally suited to Blue/Green Lanterne riders. Depending on the number of riders, faster group rides will be available but there will always be a 15mph ride offered.  The route finishes at the Racing Club car park.

Other Rides

Keep your eyes out on the club's Facebook page, as there are frequent opportunities for Saturday morning rides pulled together by club members. These are typically 40+ miles
