Lanterne Stripes

Club Rides Under Covid-19

  • You must not ride if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or feel generally unwell.

  • Riders must be members and guests will only be allowed where they have a genuine interest in joining.  Try before you join  will be reduced to 1 guest ride and pre registration will be required.

  • To prevent overcrowding and mixing, we will stagger the start times and riders will be sent out swiftly to prevent larger groups from gathering at the meeting location.

  • Pre-registration is still required for track and trace purposes,  Please register BEFORE the ride here http://wlrcc.eventbrite.com/. No registration, no ride!

  • You must not register any earlier than 48 hours prior to the ride starting and number of tickets will be limited for each Eventbrite event to comply with BC guidance.

  • Groups sizes will be set at 8 with a maximum of 12 although BC guidance permits groups of up to 15.  As a club we must remain mindful of the wider public’s perception and understandable concerns around Covid-19. This a fluid situation and numbers will be reviewed as the COVID situation becomes clearer.

  • 2 metre Social distancing will be maintained at the meet point.  Rule of 30 for outdoor meets now applys prior to the ride starting and finishing. .

  • Absolutely no spitting or nose clearing by anyone will be tolerated unless it’s into a tissue.

  • We would recommend riders carry the necessary PPE as defined by the Government (i.e face covering for Cafe stop).

  • During the ride 1 metre social distancing to be maintained at all times. Riding side by side and following riders should be no closer than 1 metre (see diagram). Avoid bunching at junctions even if that result's in group splitting and regroup further down the road.

If you develop COVID symptoms within 48 hours of attending a ride, it is your responsibility to inform the club immediately by emailing wlrcc14@gmail.com .

All club rides are available and created in a variety of formats which can be downloaded from the club website. Riders must have all club routes loaded onto their navigation device.  Please ensure your bike is roadworthy, you have the clothing appropriate for the expected weather conditions, a tool bag including a spare inner tube and wearing a
helmet is mandatory.

By coming on a Warwick Lanterne Rouge ride you agree to the existing T&C’s and agree to adhere to these guidelines.

About Ride:

This ride will take over from the bash and run when the nights are drawing in from early\mid September to end of March. It will be a 6.30pm start from the Warwick Racecourse car park and a gentle ride up to Norton Lindsey where the 9.5-mile loop will start from the Cricket Club.  A good set of lights and preferably a backup set are a must and the focus will be on group riding over the undulating course. This ride is suited to Blue/Green/Black Lanterne riders and where we have a large group we will split down into smaller groups.

20 Mile Bash

About Ride:

The bash ride will generally start when the clocks go forward for British Summer Time and finish in early September. This ride is fast, fairly serious 20 miler... but great fun and all about teamwork. There will be No Drop group (s) plus a range of other Speed groups (drop) so if your dropped you have to find your own way back, but we will always wait for you at the finish. This is a good session for “pace line” training and suited for people of moderate fitness or above. If you are new to this kind of training we recommend you ride a few Sunday club rides first. The start time will be 6.45pm (see Garmin link above). This ride is suited to Blue/Green/Black Lanterne riders. The route finishes at the Racing Club car park.
